Thanks to all "60" of you for coming out last night to our ice cream party at Baskin Robbins. This was a huge success and seeing neighbors
hanging out with neighbors even for just a few minutes was a "good thing". As we all know the camraderie between the people of Kiestwood is what makes this a "great place to be".
That same camraderie is what I am now asking you to show a day later. We all know what a terrible job that Oncor has done to our trees. Everyone is frustrated because there seems to be an invisible bad guy creating all this havoc. What I have learned that this really is a situation where the city of Dallas does not have a direct influence over Oncor and it's policies. But the Publice Utility Commission of Texas does have that authority.
So, I will list below the names of the commissioners and their contact information. I am asking that as many neighbors from Kiestwood who are not happy about the current situation, write the commissioners a letter on paper mail it to them this week. They need to hear your feelings and emotions on paper and not some "petition" generally put out in other scenarios. If you are angry, then you need to let them know. This ordeal is not going to be resovled in a quick period of time. This is a marathon and not a sprint. But in order to prevent further damage to our trees and to other trees in Dallas, I feel that the PUC needs to hear from real people and not just neighborhood presidents. The more letters they receive, the more attention will be paid.
If you want to use an email as a follow up to your mailed letter, then do so. You can also call them. Different types of commucation are going to get their attention. The commissioners are appointed by the governor, so if you even want to contact him, go ahead.
Before you write your letter, you might want to watch this very short video posted on YOUTUBE-watch, think, then write

I will also list some emails of Oncor contacts you can email as well, but the PUC is going to be where "it all starts".

And last, city councilman, Dave Neumann has scheduled a town hall meeting for the residents of Kiestwood, Oak Park Estates and Oncor to be held at the
Kiest Park Recreation Center on Monday, August 31 at 6:30 pm
We need all of you to attend. So please put this on your calendar. In your letters to the commissioners, it might be interesting to invite them to this same meeting. I'm sure Oncor would not want that to happen, which is why I would encourage you to do so.

Since it's beginnings in 1951, Kiestwood has always been at the forefront of living "the better life" in Dallas.
This is another opportunity to stand up and let others know that you want to keep it that way and not continue their disrespectful actions.
Thanks to all of you for your kind words, encouragement and Kiestwood spirit.
Raymond
